Hosting and security

Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, delivers this website through Workers Static Assets. It processes IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser and device information, response status and security information to deliver the website, diagnose faults and prevent attacks. Security checks may also involve browser information and security cookies.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website. Necessary security storage and access rely on § 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

Technical and security data are retained for as long as needed for delivery, fault diagnosis, abuse prevention and applicable legal or contractual duties. Retention varies by data and purpose.

Cloudflare processes data internationally, including in the USA. Its data processing addendum applies to processing on our behalf; it processes some service and security data under its own responsibility. Depending on the transfer, safeguards include the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses with supplementary safeguards. Details and information about obtaining copies of safeguards are available in the linked documents.

Cloudflare Network Error Logging allows supported browsers to report failed connections, including the affected URL, error type, timing and technical connection information. The reporting configuration is stored in the browser for seven days. It serves connection diagnostics on the legal bases above. Cloudflare states that client IP addresses in this reporting process are discarded after the request.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Only with your consent do we load Cloudflare Web Analytics from static.cloudflareinsights.com. It measures page views and loading performance, including page path, referring website, country, browser, operating system and device type, and sends reports to Cloudflare. According to Cloudflare, it uses no analytics cookies, localStorage or visitor profiles. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where device information is accessed, § 25(1) TDDDG.

The Cloudflare recipient and international-transfer information above also applies to analytics. Analytics remains off until you explicitly allow it, independently of saving language and appearance preferences.

Cloudflare retains unsampled measurement data for seven days and then uses a reduced dataset for longer-term reports. The dashboard covers the previous six months; this is not a deletion deadline for all technical data. Otherwise, the retention criteria above apply.

You can refuse or withdraw analytics consent at any time through Privacy settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops further analytics reports; it does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Language, appearance and privacy choices

With your consent, we save your language and light/dark preference in your browser’s localStorage for up to 180 days. You can use the website without saving these settings. Storage and access rely on § 25(1) TDDDG and, where personal data are involved, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

We also store your choices for preferences and analytics, notice version and decision and expiry times for 180 days to respect your choice. This necessary storage relies on § 25(2)(2) TDDDG and, where personal data are involved, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in implementing and documenting your privacy choice.

You can refuse or withdraw consent at any time through Privacy settings in the footer. This removes saved language and appearance preferences; your refusal remains stored so it can be respected.

Postal correspondence

Postflex GmbH, Emsdettener Straße 10, 48268 Greven, Germany, receives mail sent to our c/o address. It processes sender details, contents and enclosures by opening, scanning and digitally providing or forwarding letters. Processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for our legitimate interest in handling correspondence, Article 6(1)(b) for contractual matters or Article 6(1)(c) for legal duties. We retain correspondence only as long as needed to handle it, meet legal retention duties or address specific legal claims.

Where processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will stop processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds overriding your interests, rights and freedoms, or need the processing for legal claims.

You may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, workplace or the alleged infringement.
